ONE HEALTH DISCOVERY VILLAGE: WHEN PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT MEETS HEALTH

The One Health Discovery Village, created by WMH Project for Expertise France, transformed Lyon’s Parc de la Tête d’Or into an open-air meeting point where science, education and public participation came together.

Held during the Easter weekend, just ahead of the One Health Summit, the initiative offered a lively gateway into one of today’s most pressing global conversations.

Designed as a free, family-friendly experience, the Village translated the One Health approach into concrete experiences, highlighting the deep interconnection between human health, animal wellbeing and environmental balance. Through interactive stands, participatory workshops, educational games and stage activities, visitors were invited to explore complex issues through curiosity and discovery.

By combining civic outreach with playful engagement, the Village helped bring strategic policy themes closer to everyday citizens. More than an event, it was a reminder that the future of health is shared – and that meaningful engagement often begins in the most human settings.
